The short version
Your reading library, bookmarks, history, likes, muted authors, sources, and preferences stay on your device. ReadRabbit has no accounts or advertising.
Information stored on your device
ReadRabbit keeps the following information on your device:
- Your selected reading topics and app preferences.
- Downloaded articles and readable article text.
- Bookmarks, paragraph likes, and reading history.
- Muted authors and discovered publication sources.
This information runs the reader and personalizes its recommendations. It is not included in analytics.
Anonymous usage analytics
ReadRabbit sends a small set of product interaction events to PostHog so we can understand which features are useful. These events can include selected topic labels, an article's topic and word count, and actions such as completing onboarding, viewing an article, bookmarking, sharing, changing topics, or muting an author. App version and build number may also be included.
Analytics do not include article titles, links, article text, bookmark contents, author names, screen recordings, contact information, advertising identifiers, or location. The random analytics identifier resets when the app restarts.
PostHog processes analytics on our behalf. You can read the PostHog privacy policy.
Fetching and opening articles
ReadRabbit contacts public feeds and article websites directly from your device. Those publishers may receive ordinary request information such as your IP address, just as they would when you visit their site in a browser. Their own privacy policies apply.
If you use the system share sheet or open an article externally, the link is sent only to the app or service you choose.
Data sales and tracking
ReadRabbit does not sell personal information, show ads, or combine analytics with data from other apps or websites for advertising or cross-service tracking.
Your choices
Deleting ReadRabbit removes its stored content through the normal app deletion process. Because there is no account, ReadRabbit has no cloud reading profile to retrieve or delete.
Questions or changes
This policy may change when ReadRabbit's data practices change. For questions, open an issue in the ReadRabbit source repository.
